Volkswagen I.D. Concept Vehicles: A Glimpse of the Future

Last year’s Paris Auto Show served as the grand unveiling of the Volkswagen I.D., the first in a series of concept vehicles that presage the arrival of an all-electric VW vehicle by 2020. Needless to say, this electrified thriller is sure to be one of the most anticipated new Volkswagen cars near Ellicott City, MD as we draw closer to production.

But Paris was just the start. The Volkswagen I.D. is the first in a series of all-electric vehicles, with the second offering, the VW I.D. BUZZ, appearing at the Detroit Auto Show. The VW BUZZ is based on the classic Volkswagen Microbus and promises to be utilitarian, high-tech, and above all, fun. And just a few weeks ago came the third member of the VW I.D. family: the Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ, which represents the VW brand’s all-electric SUV of the future.

The Volkswagen I.D. CROZZ is like no SUV you’ve ever seen, in terms of capability, styling, and features. Based on the VW brand’s Modular Electric Drive Matrix (MEB) that’s supporting the entire VW I.D. family, the VW I.D. CROZZ will offer an incredible combination of power (302hp), range (311 miles), and performance (standard all-wheel drive + a VW Golf GTI-inspired front strut-type/rear multi-link suspension).

This game-changing SUV also serves up a healthy helping of progressive technology, the most impressive of which is probably its I.D. Pilot autonomous driving system. When activated, I.D. Pilot retracts the steering wheel into the dash and keeps the driver fully engaged via an augmented-reality windshield and a next-gen heads-up display.

Heritage Volkswagen Owings Mills is a great place to buy a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta near Baltimore, MD, and we’re also your go-to source for information regarding the Volkswagen I.D. family. It’s not too early to dream!
